Boundary Changes Reduce Heppner Forest Territory The recent reorganization of the Umatilla national forest has made several changes in ranger district boundaries. The Heppner rantrer district was reduced in size by add. ing the Ellis guard station area to the Ukiah district. All of the area east of Big Potamus creek, Ar Lookout, and Arbuckle Corral is now a part of the Ukiah district. This area includes the Five Mile cattle range, and Silver Creek, Mat. lock and Thompson Flat sheep al lotments. The Ukiah ranger station will be a year-long station where formerly the headquarters were moved to Pendleton during the winter months. Edgar J. Parker, formerly of Hepp ner, has been the ranger at Ukiah the past two years but recently was transferred as ranger to Bend, Ore. Fenon G. Whitney is the new rang er at Ukiah coming from Medford, Ore.
